2009 Academy Awards Nominees Announced

We’re getting to the culmination of awards show season, and earlier today the nominees for the 2009 Academy Awards were announced.  And there weren’t many surprises.

Brad Pitt’s latest opus “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” nabbed the most nods - 13 total.  In a close second, the sleeper hit of the year “Slumdog Millionaire” scored 10 nominations.

As should be expected, Los Angeles International Airport is full of celebrity sightings the week after the Academy Awards. And so far, today has been no different.

Spotted making their way past security and aboard their flights were Blonde Ambition actress Jessica Simpson and Bee Movie babe Renee Zelleweger.

Jessica Biel: New Movie, New Look

Fresh off of the success of her latest movie, “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry,” Jessica Biel is already back on the set. Sporting a darker hairdo, Ms Biel showed up as scheduled on Monday (August 6) to begin filming the drama “Powder Blue.”

Co-starring Oscar winner Forest Whitaker and Ray Liotta, the Timothy Linh Bui directed film is about “four desperate individuals intersecting in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve.”

Forest Whitaker Deals With Jessica Biel

Justin Timberlake is dating her.  Guys all over the world are in love with her.  Jessica Biel is the “it” girl these days.  And Forest Whitaker is about to become the envy of many; it looks like he’ll be working with the beautiful actress in the days ahead.

Powder Blue is a new film project that is in the works.  Oscar winner Whitaker has signed on to star, alongside Jessica Biel.  The film is not scheduled to shoot just yet, but the press has already started humming.

Best Actor Oscar For Forest Whitaker

Forest Whitaker won the Oscar for best actor Sunday for portraying former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in the movie ‘The Last King of Scotland.’

Whitaker, born in Longview, Texas in 1961 and raised in East Los Angeles, gained 50 pounds to play Amin and dazzled critics with his portrayal of the mercurial, brutal dictator, won the Oscar on his first-ever nomination.

The emotionally charged Whitaker took several long breaths, his Oscar statue in hand, before pronouncing himself “overwhelmed” by the award and pulling out a prepared speech.
