As previously reported by the Gossip Girls, Jessica Simpson and John Mayer have ended their relationship. New details chronicling the last days of coupledom have been coming forth, illustrating that their decision to go separate ways was probably for the best.

A few weeks back, rumors of a Simpson-Mayer breakup started to emanate from numerous leading gossip publications. After only a few days apart, the two were together once more - with John spotted spending the night in Jessica’s NYC hotel room, “leaving with a big smile on his face.” Well, the smile didn’t stay for long.

It seems that love never lasts in Hollywood anymore.  Just ask Jessica Simpson.  The recently divorced songstress has finally called it quits for good with her most recent flame, John Mayer.

While it comes as no surprise, due to their turbulent tendencies, it is sad to see such a cool couple throw in the towel.  A source told People magazine, “It has been rocky and it had been rocky, and it reached the end of the road. It is definitely over - the relationship has ended.”

What the heck is going on?  That’s what Carrie Underwood must be thinking right about now.  Her relationship with Dallas Cowboy’s quarterback Tony Romo has been put on hold for a second time, and Jessica Simpson may be behind it.

According to MSNBC’s report from the National Enquirer, Tony has requested that Miss Underwood give him some space for the upcoming football season.  Since practice starts in July and the season lasts until January, that’s a long time for Carrie to be on her own.

The Cannes Film Festival is home to many things, and the strange hook up appears to be one of them.  Leonardo DiCaprio debuted his environmentally friendly film “11th Hour” at the festival and Jessica Simpson was enthralled with the actor.

At an exclusive party on a private yacht in Cannes, Jessica Simpson reportedly “spent the whole night following Leonardo DiCaprio around like a lost puppy,” a source tells Page Six.  Leo’s reaction?  According to the New York Post, “He just seemed freaked out and kind of ignored her.”
