It was reported yesterday that the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has recommended to local prosecutors that Brandy be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. TMZ has a source within the CHP, and they say that the department has ruled out mechanical malfunction as the cause of the crash. The source adds that the CHP believes Brandy “was just going too fast” and “was the person at fault”. If Brandy were to be found guilty of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, she could possibly be facing as much as one year in L.A. County Jail and a $1,000 fine. posted by at 03:16 AM | (0) comments |
permalink Thursday, January 25, 2007 Brandy At Fault For Fatal Accident?
Actress and R&B singer Brandy was involved in a fatal, four-car accident on a Los Angeles freeway last month that started when her SUV hit another car, police released on Wednesday January 24. Auto insurance is required in California. The car insurance company most likely will become involved, as the payouts to the victims will undoubtedly be quite high. The 27-year-old, Brandy, was not injured, but the driver of the car she rear-ended with her Land Rover in the December 30th crash died, according to the California Highway Patrol. The victim was identified as Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, a married mother of one, said California Highway Patrol spokesman Leland Tang. No charges or arrests have been made in connection with the accident, and no formal determination has been made as to what caused the crash, which was first reported by TMZ. posted by at 01:23 PM | (0) comments |
