Tuesday, June 16, 2009 Sacha Baron Cohen Premieres “Bruno” in France
Ever since he hit the feature film world with his 2006 opus “Borat,” Sacha Baron Cohen has been a major comedic force in American pop culture. And last night he gave the folks in France a peek at his latest project “Bruno.” The “Ali G” funnyman showed up at the Paris premiere looking every bit as flamboyant as his character in the film, posing with several scantily clad friends. posted by at 07:34 AM | (0) comments |

Always the consummate funnyman, Sacha Baron Cohen showed up at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards in yet another shocking getup. The “Borat” comic donned an all-leopard-print ensemble including a pair of briefs, a skintight top, fedora, and furry boots as his alter-ego Bruno.

Gay cowboys displaying physical affection, and a fictitious reporter/hack from Kazakhstan are just a few to name who have suffered human rights abuses in 2006. “Brokeback Mountain” and “Borat” may be the most notorious two, but there are many other within the entertainment industry that have grown accustomed to having some of the content that is produced banned or restricted by foreign governments.
In the Washington Post, a source from the State Department was quoted as saying, “foreign governments banned or restricted access to a variety of big and little screen entertainment as well as live events”.

permalink Saturday, October 28, 2006 First Came Ali G, then Borat.. is Bruno Next?
With all of the Borat headlines these days, I thought it might be fun to have a look back at Sacha Baron Cohen’s first character, Ali G. Remember Ali G? Here’s a funny video of Ali G. with David and Victoria Beckham for Comic Relief. It’s nice to see Posh smiling.
What’s next? Well there’s supposedly a bidding war going on over the next character, Bruno.. the gay fashionista from Austria. You can see a clip of him below during a visit to Daytona Beach, Florida for spring break. Let’s just say that when they find out he’s a reporter for a gay Austrian TV show that they all get a little pi$$ed off.

I hope we are fortunate enough to enjoy Adam Lambert’s vocals for many years! Jo comments on: Halle Berry: Vampire Vixen I love Halle’s tshirt! Does anyone know where to find it? I just bought a swarovski encrusted tshirt at a Twilight convention and it rocks!
here’s where I got mine:
Where can I get Halle’s? Does anyone know? Walker comments on: Reese Witherspoon Fights Domestic Violence in the UK Good for her. I feel like domestic violence is the red-headed step-child of violence issues. It’s easy to speak out against government-induced famine, or wars that kill civilians, or rape. But domestic violence is a very sensitive issue because it is so common! I’m glad Reese is getting people talking. Another voice brave enough to speak on domestic violence is that of Marala Scott, author of the book, “In Our House: Perception vs. Reality.” She is specifically interested in the “Indicators of an Abuser,” a tool she developed to help people recognize patterns in others (or in themselves) that might signify abusive tendencies in the future. Really fascinating stuff, that - you can see them here. Keep up the good work, Reese! Douglas Harnett comments on: Lindsay Lohan: Seeing Kevin Connolly? linsay just needs to leave that loser kevin connolly and come to me with her sexy a** N.J. comments on: Adam Lambert: More Cancellations ABC is really showing their true colors right now… They invited Adam Lambert to do the closing numer on that awards show, they WANTED it to be racy and risky and announced the “Shocking” performance a dozen times throughout the show. And now that the’ve used him to garner ratings they throw him under the bus??? This has nothing to do with his performance, this is a witch hunt. Nothing else! And just because Adam Lambert is gay nobody dares to speak up… it’s disgusting.
These are not the “values” I want my children to learn, I will no longer allow them to watch ABC or any affiliated companies.
