David Beckham Plays Chauffeur

In an industry where it’s all about looking important and maintaining status, genuine sincerity is a rare find.  But David Beckham scored some big points yesterday, and it wasn’t on the pitch.

Rather than hire a driver to pick his wife up from the airport (she was returning from the dVb Jeans promotional trip to London), the LA Galaxy soccer stud took the time to battle traffic and personally give Victoria a lift himself.

Bringing her poshness to the Big Apple, Victoria Beckham arrived at the Costume Institute gala last night arm-in-arm with her studly soccer star hubby David by her side.

For the evening, Victoria wore a “thigh-splitting crème vintage Armani evening dressing coat from the autumn 1989 collection.” David, meanwhile, opted for a classic black Armani tux.

The LA Galaxy soccer stud and his Spice Girl were spotted on a private tour of a winery in Napa Valley on Monday, and they were in good company.

Putting to rest rumors of a catfight (between Katie and Posh), Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes arrived in a luxury chauffeured escort, with the “Top Gun” stud in a grey suit, while his “Dawson’s Creek” wife sported a sparkly yellow dress with black high heels.
