Beckham Makes Big Debut, Readies For TomKat Party

David Beckham made a low-key start to his highly anticipated US football career last night, playing for only 12 minutes in a 1-0 loss to the English Premiere power, Chelsea.

With Becks off the field for most of the game, much attention was paid to the high profile stars gracing the stands of the Home Depot Center. Among those, David’s pop-star wife Victoria was joined in a VIP corporate box by gal pals Eva Longoria and Katie Holmes.

David Beckham: Cleared To Make Galaxy Debut

Questions as to whether or not David Beckham would be making his debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy this evening have been answered. Becks is a go!

According to the Los Angeles Times, “The 32-year-old England national team star will not start in the 5:30 p.m. game, but will come on some time during the second half. It could for as long as 30 minutes or it could simply be a cameo appearance of 10 minutes or so.”

Expectations are extremely high this Sunday at the A-list only gala to welcome David Beckham to America. Tom Cruise and his wife, Katie Holmes, are rumored to be the driving force behind the festivities, which comes as no surprise as the two couples have been long-time friends.

And with Tom’s lavish self in control, along with a guest list that includes Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Jim Carrey, Steven Spielberg and Jerry Bruckheimer, it can be assured that all 600 available seats will be taken. 

Victoria Beckham Talks Traffic Stop

As a result of moving so that her husband could lace up the cleats for the Los Angeles Galaxy, Victoria Beckham has needed to adjust to several different customs here in the US; and it appears that proper driving skills are among those.

After an incident of being pulled over by the LAPD, Posh confessed that while she was concerned, it wasn’t because she was afraid that she might be in trouble with the law, rather it was a wardrobe problem. She explains further, “I was completely shocked and devastated because I was wearing flat shoes… I didn’t know whether to pose or get arrested.”

Despite Injury, David Beckham Still Has “The Touch”

David Beckham’s highly anticipated debut with the Los Angeles Galaxy against Chelsea is said to be in doubt after Becks’ ankle injury limited his ability to get much of a practice in during his first training session yesterday (July 16). What isn’t in doubt is what we like to call “The Beckham Touch.”

According to ESPN, “The ankle swelled up during the flight from London to Los Angeles last Thursday and despite a weekend of massage and treatment, Beckham could not take a full part in Galaxy’s open training session at the Home Depot Center last night in front of around 2,000 fans.”
