It seems that most actors and actresses have a penchant to direct.  Kate Hudson finally realized her dream to get behind the camera, following the leads of Jennifer Aniston and Kirsten Dunst to the Glamour Magazine “Reel Moments” program.

Already in its third year, “Reel Moments” exists to empower women by producing female-friendly short films, while at the same time providing actresses the opportunity to try out directing.

9th Annual Young Hollywood Awards

Hollywood Life magazine just hosted their 9th annual Young Hollywood Awards show on Sunday night, with the freshest talent flocking to the scene.

The event, which celebrates the accomplishments of Hollywood’s brightest young stars, saw Hilary Duff, Jessica Alba, Dakota Fanning, Katherine McPhee, and Katherine Heigl, to name a few, all turn up for the fledgling award ceremony.

Dakota Fanning Rape Scene Draws Protests

Child star Dakota Fanning, best known for her roles in films like ‘Charlotte’s Web’ is in the middle of a controversy over a rape scene in her latest film ‘Hounddog’.

The 12-year-old actress portrays a girl called Lewellen, who is raped by a teenager.

The hard-hitting movie written and directed by Deborah Kampmeier, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Tuesday, has been surrounded by complaints, with protests beginning before the festival.

The Catholic League, one of the protesting groups, has urged the US Department of Justice to investigate the film for possible violation of child pornography laws.

“It matters not a whit whether Fanning’s mother, along with Fanning’s teacher/child welfare worker, gave their consent,” said the league’s president William Donahue, who admitted he had not seen the film.

Dakota Fanning is Snow White this Halloween. The photos above were taken at the 13th Annual Dream Halloween® fundraiser at the Barker Hangar of the Santa Monica Airport. This event benefits the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation (CAAF). This fun-filled event was hosted by Jamie Lee Curtis.

I still think her Tinkerbelle dress would make a great Halloween costume though.

Dakota Fanning at CMT Event

Dakota Fanning at the Country Music Television (CMT) “Giants” Event which honored country music legend, Reba McEntire.

She looks so different to me. Almost like she’s aged by at least 4 years since I saw her oh about 6 months ago.  My first impression of the dress Dakota Fanning is wearing in these photos was “Tinkerbelle!” Great for Halloween, she just needs a magic wand and some pixie dust.  Wonder if she goes trick or treating?
