Heath Ledger’s Family Readies For Burial

The Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home was the center of the media world today, as Heath Ledger’s remains were readied before being taken to an unspecified airport, police reports tell.

At around 4 p.m., The Patriot actor’s body, which was placed into a plain light wooden casket, was loaded into an awaiting Cadillac hearse to be readied for air transport.

Michelle Williams Returns Home

It’s been a tough couple of days for Michelle Williams.  After hearing about her ex-fiancé Heath Ledger’s death on Tuesday, she rushed back to the US, arriving in New York City yesterday.

The “Dawson’s Creek” star was on location in Sweden with her (and Heath’s) daughter Matilda when she was notified of the tragedy.  She quickly hopped a plane to return to her Brooklyn home last night.

Michelle Williams Devastated By Ledger’s Death

In light of the recent tragic death of Aussie actor Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams, his once-fiancé and the mother of his two-year-old daughter Matilda, is taking the news extremely hard.

Reportedly, the “Dawson’s Creek” actress was on location in Sweden with her daughter when she received the news that Heath had been found dead.  According to a source close to Williams, “She’s devastated.”

Less than 24 hours after his lifeless body was discovered by a maid, Heath Ledger’s family has released a statement regarding his tragic death.
Their statement is as follows:

“Heath’s family confirms the very tragic, untimely and accidental passing of our dearly loved son, brother and doting father of Matilda. He was found peacefully asleep in his New York apartment by his housekeeper at 3:30 p.m. U.S. time.
