Costume Institute Gala: Hollywood Style At Its Best

The New York Metropolitan Museum of Art was the place to be and be seen on Monday night (May 7). The Met played host to this year’s Costume Institute Gala in honor of Paul Poiret.

Poiret was a renowned pre-World War II fashion designer, who was the first to use draping in dressmaking and is credited with launching the suspender belt, flesh-colored stockings, the sack dress and culottes.

Pamela Anderson has made it public that, of all people, she would love to see Scarlett Johansson shed her clothes. The former Baywatch star is trying to persuade Scarlett to strip it all off for famous men’s magazine Playboy.

Pamela, who’s been featured in the magazine a record 12 times, thinks that the ‘Match Point’ star has what it takes to be Hugh Hefner’s latest hit. Most likely correct in her assumption, Anderson also mentioned that she doesn’t quite believe that Johansson would be so open to the idea of posing for Playboy.

Scarlett Sings With The Jesus & Mary Chain

Scarlett Johansson joined forces with The Jesus & Mary Chain for special shows on both Thursday and Friday night. Scarlett noted in the past that she plans on recording an album, but, until now, we thought that she was poking fun at other actresses turned musicians.

The Jesus & Mary Chain, playing their first gigs since they split up in 1998, sparked rumors that they would have a special guest on their US tour dates, but no one expected star caliber of Scarlett’s status.

Scarlett Johansson In South Pacific?

Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has induced reports that she may star in the New York City production of South Pacific, after declaring her love for the musical during a recent interview.

The New York Post had previously reported that Johansson was in talks to play US Navy nurse Nellie Forbush in a revival of the musical at the Lincoln Center, which is scheduled to open in January 2008.

Johansson Tops Alba For Glamour’s Sexiest Body

Scarlett Johansson has won a Glamour magazine poll for the sexiest body in the world. While these polls carry little real meaning, it’s always interesting to see how they rank the current “IT” girls.

With the top slot, Scarlett may indeed be redefining what men and women consider sexy by returning to an old standard of beauty.

Glamour spoke about the “Lost In Translation” actress, stating, “With curves to rival Marilyn Monroe, Scarlett embraces old-school Hollywood style and exudes body confidence. Does she ever have an off day? In a word, no. It seems that curves are in and size zeroes are not the most admired.”
