A few more notable updates have taken place in the Anna Nicole Smith saga over the past couple of days.

First of all, Anna’s estranged mother, Vergie Arthur, wants custody of baby Danielynn in the event of Larry Birkhead’s death. These demands and other joint custody issues are delaying Birkhead from gaining custody of his daughter.

Willa Ford Slated To Play Anna Nicole

While numerous names have been thrown around, dancer-singer Willa Ford has nabbed the role of Anna Nicole Smith in an indie biopic that will begin shooting next week.

The film, “Anna Nicole,” is produced by Jack and Joseph Nasser with Elie Samaha executive producing and Keoni Waxman directing, according to Variety reports.

Anna Nicole Update: Birkhead’s The Daddy

With another chapter in the Anna Nicole Smith saga now closed, the results of the DNA paternity test have confirmed that Larry Birkhead, an entertainment photojournalist, is the biological father of baby Dannielynn. The seven-month-old girl has been at the center of a bitter paternity dispute since she was born in the Bahamas last September.

The closed session at a Bahamian court was attended by both Birkhead, and Anna Nicole’s lawyer-turned-partner, Howard K. Stern, whose name appears on the birth certificate of Dannielynn.

Anna Nicole’s Son’s Inquest to Resume

A judge in the Bahamas is close to resolving a legal issue that has prevented the progress in Daniel Smith’s death investigation.  The judge told the Associated Press on Wednesday that the inquest should resume soon.

Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez said he expects to rule in a closed session today (Thursday) on a motion filed by the estate of the former Playboy Playmate. The undisclosed issue prompted a delay in picking a jury for the inquest into the Sept. 10 death of Daniel Smith.

Anna Nicole Smith: Accidental Overdose

A judge has finally released the anxiously awaited autopsy results of Anna Nicole Smith.  An accidental drug overdose caused the sudden death of the former Playboy Playmate, Florida officials told reporters.

Anna Nicole was found dead at a Florida casino-hotel on February 8, triggering numerous bitter legal feuds over her remains, burial, and the custody of her 6-month-old daughter, Dannielynn.
