If Barney the Dinosaur made purple “geek,” Eva Mendes is making it “chic.” The Hitch hottie showed up at the My Hero gala last night, and she looked amazing.

The “We Own the Night” actress wore a knee-length purple dress with black detailing, along with overstated jewelry and a black handbag.  And this girl looked mighty good for someone who was recently bucked off a horse.

The “Hitch” hottie was smashing in a yellow gown at the launch of her new Campari Calendar 2008.  The event took place at Superstudio in Milan, Italy yesterday.

It’s so interesting to see the off-screen interaction between two actors that have worked together.  While they had some pretty intense love-scene-moments in “We Own The Night,” Joaquin Phoenix and Eva Mendes aren’t showing much love in real life.

If you’re a fan of Eva Mendes, you’re in luck.  Her new movie “We Own The Night” opens this weekend, and she’s been out and about on a promotional tour.

The latest stop for the Hitch actress is New York City.  She charmed up the crowd at MTV’s Total Request Live show yesterday.  But that was just a warm up for the big premiere last night.
