Keanu Reeves Paparazzo Run-In... Literally!

Unable to use his Neo-like powers to morph out of the situation, Keanu Reeves was involved in a less than fortunate incident on Monday. The "Matrix" actor reportedly ended up handcuffed by police after "running into" a photographer while pulling out of a parking spot in LA, sheriff’s officials said.

People news reported that the accident, which occurred at 7:30 p.m., caused no harm to Reeves. Meanwhile, the photographer, Alison Silva, was rushed to a hospital with injuries of an unknown nature.

If you’re David Letterman, and you can’t do your nightly “Late Show” gig, who do you call? A CBS spokesperson stated that Letterman had to go home sick with a stomach virus, but he was able to find a last minute fill-in to handle his "Late Show" hosting duties: Adam Sandler.

Sandler was already scheduled to appear on the show as a guest, along with actor Don Cheadle, to promote their new film "Reign Over Me," a drama about a man who reconnects with a college roommate after losing his whole family in the Sept. 11 attacks.

According to reports, Universal Pictures is set to produce the film, which is "about a young man who discovers his father is an assassin, only to learn shortly thereafter that his dad has been murdered. The youth is drafted to follow his father’s example."

Tom Cruise Blocks Superman

Tom Cruise’s production house United Artists has given Superman director Bryan Singer the immediate green light to produce a new thriller. Instead of pursuing a Superman sequel right away, Singer will team up with The Usual Suspects screenwriter Chris McQuarrie for a new film.

"Bryan is one of the great filmmakers working today and Chris is an exceptional writer, and for Tom and me, this was an exciting opportunity for our second picture," said Paula Wagner, Cruise’s United Artists partner.
