Achieving a victory in her battle against thyroid cancer, Brooke Burke-Charvet revealed that the disease has been ridden from her body.
In a Wednesday (December 12) entry on her ModernMom.com blog, the "Dancing with the Stars" co-host writes, "I just got the results back from all of my tests and great news -- the thyroid cancer has been removed from my body and all my lymph nodes are clear. So I'm hoping that this is the end of the story. Woohoo!!! And thank GOD!"
Taking it easy after the December 6th surgery, she admits recovery has been "much better than I expected it would be." The 41-year-old mom writes, "I've been home for the past week, watching a lot of TV, which I never do. I've almost made it through the entire season of Showtime's . . . 'Homeland.' I can't remember the last time I lost myself in someone else's story."
Finally, the relieved star adds, "It's so out of the ordinary for me -- to not be working or rushing from place to place driving the kids around. But I have to admit I could kinda get used to this . . . In a weird way, it's kind of the perfect ending to a very busy year. I've taken the rest of the year off to recover and catch up with my family and now we're just celebrating life."
