So far, 2007 has been a year of disappointment and embarrassment for Britney Spears. But hold on just a second! With a high-profile club opening last night, and a comeback album complete with MTV VMA performance, this Louisiana girl just may have what it takes to own the music world again.
Last night marked the opening of the Luxor Hotel’s LAX nightclub, and Britney was hired on to do the opening hostess duties. She showed up at the party looking fabulous with an air of confidence we haven’t seen in her as of late.

Could it be? Are we actually getting a release date for the new Britney Spears album? According to her label, Jive Records, the answer is ‘yes.’ And her new single is already hitting the airwaves.
“Gimme More” is the lead track from Brit’s new album, which will be released November 13th… just in time for Thanksgiving. The single was officially premiered last night on New York City radio station Z-100’s Website.

Not only does he want full custody of the kids, Kevin Federline now wants Britney Spears to pay some of his legal expenses in their divorce case, too.
According to K Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, his client "has no net income after various expenses, and Ms. Spears is clearly the monied party in the dispute." As a result, Federline feels that Britney can afford to, and should, pay some of his legal team's hefty bill.

Gossip Girls have learned that a criminal investigation has been launched into an attempted assault with a deadly weapon involving the legal team of Kevin Federline.
According to the LAPD, Aaron Cohen, a former counter-terror commando in the Israeli army who now works for K-fed’s lawyer, was struck while sitting in his car. He was rammed by Sam Osama Lufti, who was driving a Mercedes. Cohen was on his way to serve a subpoena to Lufti, but Lufti recognized him and decided to make an attempt at ending his life.

If I were Britney Spears’ advisor, I’d tell her to steer clear of the Internet until further notice. One of her unfinished tracks (we’re hoping it’s not done yet, because it sounds horrible) was leaked earlier this week, and Ryan Seacrest got ahold of it.
Of the song, a source told press, "This is obviously just a demo and not a finished or official release in any way. It is a shame someone would leak unfinished, unmastered and incomplete work."
