As the world awaits for the announcement of the name of the child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, unlike most children his last name is also unknown.
According to the BBC news, the royal baby could have one of three last names. When surnames become necessary, both Princes William and Harry take their father's royal house name and go by William Wales and Harry Wales.
In addition to taking his father's last name of Wales, the new addition could nab the name of the royal house given to his parents - Cambridge.
A third option is the last name of Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, who goes by the hyphenated Mountbatten-Windsor. Mountbatten was from his maternal grandparents and Windsor was the house given to his family by King George V in 1917.
However, since the family is most often called by their first names and titles, that last name may be scarcely uttered. Stay linked to GossipCenter for all the royal baby updates!
