Brad Pitt Does the “Daily Show”

Posted Thursday February 2, 2012 9:15 AM GMT

He’s been a busy boy as of late, and Brad Pitt was spotted paying a visit to “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” yesterday in New York City.

The “Tree of Life” star was in the house to talk about his recent movie “Moneyball” that has been nominated for an Oscar award.

When asked what appealed to him about the flick, Brad shared, “It was this story of this small market team that found the game unfair. They couldn’t compete. They couldn’t buy the talent. And if they developed the talent it was poached by the rich teams. So what are they gonna do to level the playing field?”

“And these guys started questioning 150 years of baseball knowledge. And they started with the question, ‘Just because we’ve been doing it this way for so long, does that mean it’s right?’ I equate it to the automobile. If we invented the automobile today, would we invent a car, would we say, ‘I know, we’ll run it on a finite fossil fuel, we’ll export a half a trillion dollars of our GDP, we’ll spend hundreds of billions of dollars on our military to protect that interest, and it’ll pollute the environment!?’ You know, it just doesn’t make sense.”
