Angelina Jolie’s Press Conference in Islamabad
Continuing her UN Goodwill Ambassador duties in Pakistan, Angelina Jolie gave a press conference in Islamabad earlier today (September 8).
The “Changeling” actress is in the flood-ravaged country to draw the world’s attention to the awful plight of 21 million people displaced by the natural disaster.
She explained that just because Pakistan’s government has been criticized over perceived corruption, people from all over the world should still find ways to fund relief efforts.
“I have seen what they have done in the field. I've physically seen people assisted, so if you are nervous about giving money directly in one way there are other ways to do it.”
"If I could put a face on this disaster it would be those wonderful, kind, funny and hard working people who lost everything. They have been hit and lost so much that they kind of feel that they need to go with God and hope that something, anything, is going to make the situation better."
