Andy Rooney
It’s been one of the most exciting and enchanting years in the entertainment industry, but 2011 hasn’t been without it’s fair share of losses.
And as the year comes to a close, we remember those who made their mark on Tinseltown before being laid to rest in recent months.
A mainstay on CBS airwaves, Andy Rooney passed away at a New York City hospital at the age 92 on Friday night (November 4).
The legendary TV journalist and anchor of the network's Sunday night news magazine "60 Minutes" underwent minor surgery just weeks ago, of which he was then reported to be suffering from "serious complications."
He’s had a long and distinguished career at “60 Minutes,” and last night (October 2) Andy Rooney signed off for the last time.
The outspoken commentator brought an end to his 33-year run, having composed 1,097 essays on various aspects of popular culture and world events.
