"American Idol" is searching for a new judge to fill Jennifer Lopez's seat, as the singer reportedly plans to bow out after two seasons and a former contestant on the show is among those being considered to take her place.
Although production sources tell Us mag that no final decision has been made, E! News reports that executives from the FOX series have been talking to Lambert about the gig "for over a month."
However, Adam - who is currently in London for his much-talked-about performances with Queen - seemed dumbfounded about the rumors, telling press, “If Idol wants to talk to me about judging, I’d be more than flattered to have that conversation."
And while it may be unclear as to how close the singing completion series is with deciding who the replacement judge will be, insiders say that one thing is for certain, J Lo will not return for another season.
"There is just too much going on for her right now," a source explains. "She regrets she can't stay on the show. It's been an incredible experience and she is forever grateful that she did it."
The network has yet to make an official announcement on Jennifer's season 12 contract, but her tour dates are said to overlap with the Idol's filming schedule.
