Keeping the hits coming, Alicia Keys just released the music video for her latest single “Brand New Me,” and it’s yet another winner.
In the clip, the 31 year-old songstress dons some curly locks and a plunging neckline gown as she deftly plays a piano and sings her heart out for the camera.
Meanwhile, in other career news, Alicia has found herself in some legal trouble due to an uncredited sample of “Hey There Lonely Girl” that shows up in her song “Girl on Fire.”
Co-writer Earl Shuman was tipped off to the alleged theft by a blogger named Roger Friedman, who noticed the oversight and posted a story to that effect.
Shuman replied, "Hi Roger, I am the co-writer of 'Hey There Lonely Girl' and I appreciate your recognizing an important part of 'Lonely Girl' in Alicia Keys' new recording. Thanks for your expertise.”
As a result, Earl has filed a lawsuit against Keys and her record label, though it’s still in the early stages.
