Alexander Skarsgard Covers August Man January 2012

Posted Friday January 6, 2012 7:31 AM GMT

Bringing his suave ways to their year-beginning offering, Alexander Skarsgard suited up for the cover of the January 2012 issue of August Man.

The studly Swede actor oozed charm as he posed for the Andrew Macpherson shot spread while talking with the magazine about topics including his relationship with his famous father and being typecast as an alpha-male like his "True Blood" character Eric Northman.

Highlights from Alexander's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to check out August Man!

On his apprehensiveness over press coverage:
"It freaked me out to be talked about in magazines or on television. It made me feel insecure and nervous."

On being true to himself:
"It's really hard to find the right balance, and the only way to do it is to be the guy you are, and never forget where you come from."

On his relationship with his father:
" we're more like brothers than father and son. We hang out. I'll take him out with my buddies in LA or in Stockholm and it's never awkward or anything. He's 60 but he likes to party."

On everyone wanting him to fill roles similar to that of his ""True Blood" character:
"Everyone wants me to play air Northmen from true blood in a movie with a different name, basically... Strong, tough, else the male parts. That's fun to do, but you want to balance that out."
