We all remember the 15-year-old girl that got Akon in trouble for simulating sex with her earlier this year. Well, now he’s getting the book thrown at him again for throwing a male fan off the stage during one of his concerts.
Back in June, the platinum-selling rapper was playing a show in upstate New York when the incident occurred. An audience member even got cell phone footage of Akon encouraging the unidentified 15-year-old male to join him onstage before hoisting him up over his shoulders and throwing him back into the crowd.
As soon as the boy’s mother found out what happened, she contacted authorities demanding that they investigate. But according to Akon’s lawyer, nothing unlawful transpired.
Benjamin Brafman, Akon’s attorney, told press, "Given the information that we have reviewed to date, it does not appear to us that Akon was involved in any criminal conduct whatsoever. We are prepared to fully cooperate with any law enforcement agency that may be investigating this incident. We are confident that after a thorough investigation it will be apparent that no criminal prosecution of Akon is warranted."
The only other issue was that a female fan suffered what turned out to be a concussion as a result of Akon throwing the fan back into the crowd. No charges are being filed at this time.
