On the coattails of the debut of his new single “Better Than I Know Myself,” it was just announced that Adam Lambert has been tapped as the new lead singer of Queen!
The “Whaddya Want From Me” hitmaker will take the spot of original member, Freddie Mercury, who passed away back in 1991.
Of the honorable gig, Lambert told UK’s Daily Star, "The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*****g great songs," Lambert, 30, told the paper. "It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of. There's no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That's impossible."
Queen is set to headline the Sonisphere Festival tour this summer.
