Simon Phillip Cowell is the annoying judge on American Idol that likes to make negative comments about contestants. Simon Cowell was dumped by his long term girlfriend Terri Seymour and recently announced his engagement to Mezhgan Hussainy.
He’s known for his cutting remarks behind the “American Idol” judges’ table, and now Simon Cowell is coming to “America’s Got Talent” as Howard Stern’s replacement.
The snarky Brit is featured in a new commercial for the upcoming Season 11 (slated to premiere on May 31st), and Cowell does a great impersonation of the legendary Anthony Hopkins character Hannibal Lecter.
According to Simon Cowell's interview with The Sun, “In terms of the band, they’ve got enough hits now they can take some time off and do some other stuff they want to do. Then I hope they’ll have a little bit of time apart and want to get back together again. It’s a fun job, but it’s absolutely their decision.”
The forthcoming Season 15 of “American Idol” will be its last, but Simon Cowell has no interest in reprising his role at the judges’ table.
Following his exit in 2010, the snarky entertainment mogul hasn’t looked back, and he told “Extra,” “I kind of said goodbye many years ago. Maybe I’ll flip the light switch out at the end or something.”
He was there at the beginning when “American Idol” burst onto the popular culture scene and crowned Kelly Clarkson as the Season 1 Champion, and now Simon Cowell has responded to news that FOX has cancelled the show.
The snarky Englishman took to his Twitter account to share his take on the upcoming 15th and final season of the singing competition- “Looking back at my time on ‘American Idol’ we had a great time. We found great artists. Had fun. And to America. Thank you. It was a blast.”
In the course of a few weeks, Zayn Malik’s entire personal and professional life has undergone a massive overhaul thanks to his abrupt exit from One Direction.
And mentor Simon Cowell told press that he’s excited to see what the “Kiss You” singer does next, though he should first take a breather from everything that’s been going on. He explained, “Look, he’s got to get his head together a little bit. He needs time eon his own, as he said, to be a normal 22-year-old, which he’s gonna have.” When asked if he’s helping Malik work on a solo career, Simon stated, “I can’t give anything away.”
