Throughout her long and distinguished career, Ellen DeGeneres has collected quite a list of accomplishments, and on Thursday (November 12) she celebrated the 2000th episode of her iconic talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Of course, the blonde-haired comedienne had a roster chock full of top-name stars including good friends Jennifer Aniston and Justin Timberlake, who both surprised her by showing up on stage.
She gave birth to her first child, Isabelle Amarachi, in April 2014, but Kerry Washington says she isn’t interested in “getting back” to her pre-pregnancy weight.
In the September 2015 issue of SELF, the “Scandal” star explains, “I’ve been really focused on not being ‘back’ to anything, but being the best version of myself right now. My body is the site of a miracle now. I don’t want to be pre-miracle.”
The “Scandal” star shares that she used Twitter to divert attention away from the fact that she was giving birth last April. "Every Thursday within three weeks of my due date, I loaded up pre-tweets based on the episodes and what I would want to say. I tweeted in the very early stages of my labor. I figured that if I went completely silent on social media, then people would know I was in the hospital!"
As one of the most powerful women on television Kerry Washington calls her own shots, though in her cover story for the April 2015 issue of Marie Claire she shares that she’s made her fair share of mistakes to get to where she is today.
The “Scandal” star confesses, "Earlier in my career I was much more super-sharey. There were moments when I wanted to process things that were happening to me more privately, and I didn't have the space to do it, because once you let people in, they're in and you don't get to say, 'Oh, I want this for myself.'"
