From “The Hunger Games” to “Game of Thrones,” Natalie Dormer is quickly becoming a household name the world over.
The 33-year-old actress is featured on the front of the April 2015 issue of Self magazine, and it sounds like she’s just getting warmed up career-wise. Of her work on the popular film franchise, Natalie explained, “In Mockingjay - Part 2, I'm basically running around in heavy armor while carrying a semiautomatic rifle. I don't know how I would have kept up with [costars] Liam Hemsworth or Sam Claflin if I hadn't been in the best cardiovascular shape of my life.”
Back in 2013 she found out she possessed a mutated BRCA1 gene and ever since Angelina Jolie has been careful to take every precautionary measure possible to prevent the possibility of cancer.
Last week, the “Changeling” actress (who had a double mastectomy two years ago) had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed after getting some “suspect test results” earlier in the month. In a guest column for the New York Times, Jolie writes, I went through what I imagine thousands of other women have felt. I told myself to stay calm, to be strong, and that I had no reason to think I wouldn’t live to see my children grow up and to meet my grandchildren. I called my husband [ Brad Pitt in France, who was on a plane within hours. The beautiful thing about such moments in life is that there is so much clarity. You know what you live for and what matters. It is polarizing, and it is peaceful.”
