He’s getting ready to wrap up his tenure as host of “The Late Show,” and David Letterman told the New York Times that Stephen Colbert wasn’t the first person he thought of when it came to finding his successor.
The 68-year-old comedian explained that CBS never consulted him in the matter. “Just as a courtesy, maybe somebody would say,‘You know, we’re kicking around some names. Do you have any thoughts here?' But it doesn’t bother me now. At the time, I had made the decision [to leave] and I thought, O.K., this is what comes when you make this decision. Not my show. When we sign off, we’re out of business with CBS.”
Taking a break from her motherly duties, Scarlett Johansson is slated to host “Saturday Night Live” this week with musical guest Wiz Khalifa.
